Rick’s an uncomplicated guy. Loves his family. Loves his music. Keeps it real.
His wife is Brenda Puckett Grammer, a high school English Teacher at LFO High School. She’s a lover of reading, candy, and online puzzle games. She keeps him grounded, loves him well, and supports him in his ministry.
He has two lovely daughters.
His elder daughter is Lynne Grammer Mashburn, married to Andy Mashburn. Their sweet baby (Rick’s adored grandbaby) is Miss Claire Elise Mashburn. Lynne’s an elementary school teacher with a knack for technology. She’s wildly good at her job and a fantastic new mom. Andy works in IT as well, working his way up through the IT ranks at a technology firm in Duluth, GA.
His younger daughter is Libby Mae Grammer, married to William Underwood. She’s an ordained Baptist minister with an MDiv. from McAfee School of Theology. She’s headed to the University of Virginia to study Theology & Ethics. She plans to pursue a PhD in the same. She also works as an immigration paralegal to pay the bills. Will’s working his way through school, doing a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. He serves and bartends for pay at an elite members-only club.
Rick’s got some furry replacement children, too – Miss Windy Gale, the super corgi. Mr. Maximilan, the chiweenie. And Mr. Hardey – the old man mutt (who has no idea he’s a big dog).
Rick’s a lover of history and spends much of his free hobby time studying the Civil War, touring battlefields, reading historical novels, and retracing the family genealogy lines. He’s a member of various historical societies, serves on the board of preservation in Catoosa County, and generally cares a great deal for heritage, history, and learning.
